Complex Litigation is a new course offered this fall and it is a course in advanced civil procedure that focuses on civil litigation involving multiple claims and parties, as well as multi-jurisdictional disputes. The course will have an emphasis, as a teaching device, on class actions, but will explore a variety of subjects and policy discussions related to Article III standing requirements, joinder, preclusion, discovery, settlement, and ethical issues in the context of multi-party litigation. The course will consider both practical and theoretical problems relating to complex litigation.
