Course Description

LAIP: Second Look Advocacy focuses on challenging mass incarceration through representation of individual clients serving excessive sentences. Students represent clients incarcerated in Wisconsin state prisons who are seeking relief through a variety of “second look” mechanisms. Students will work closely with their incarcerated clients to develop persuasive arguments about why clients should be released from prison. Students will develop their skills in interviewing, fact development, legal research, and written and oral advocacy.
