Course Description
A specialized course for master's students in the Legal Institutions program who already have a basic law degree. The course focuses on the use of cases and common law analysis and basic general skills in American legal research, with several short (1-3 pages) written assignments related to various research sources. The course also covers citation conventions (e.g., footnote conventions) and plagiarism issues. Legal Sources begins during Orientation Week with an introductory lecture. Attendance at the Orientation Week introductory class is required.
